Want to BYO frames?
BYO frames allows you to hold on to your favourite frames or get glasses made with frames you bought elsewhere.
Our certified Optical Dispensers measure, make and fit your glasses in-house, allowing:
- You the option of bringing your own frames.
- Us to make your new prescription glasses in a much shorter time frame. For single vision jobs, it can sometimes be ready for collection within 2–3 days!
Bring your own frame with you on your next grocery run or appointment and our certified Optical Dispensers can assess whether it’s in the right condition to put new lenses in and/or reuse.
There is a fitting fee depending on the construction of the frames you bring to us. For full metal or plastic (acetate) frames, the fitting fee is $20. For semi-rimless or full rimless frames, the fitting fee is $50.
No, you don’t have to get your prescription from us, but any prescription you bring to us must be valid.
In certain cases, we will recommend our Optometrist confirm the prescription by conducting our own (bulk-billed) eye test. For simple prescriptions, this may not be necessary. However, for complex prescriptions (ie. high astigmatism, high myopia, etc) we strongly recommend a recheck to mitigate problems with incorrect/inaccurate prescriptions.
We cannot offer warranties on lenses made from external prescriptions (not prescribed by our Optometrist).
No, prescription safety glasses are required to meet specific safety standards that we cannot ensure with any product that does not come from us. Learn more about prescription safety glasses 🔗 .
