Lens Designs
Single Vision Lenses
Set for a single focal length only such as near, intermediate (e.g. computer) or distance.
Progressive Lenses
Sometimes called multifocal lenses, these have three main focal length for distance, intermediate and reading. This enables you the convenience of not having to take your spectacles on and off and you can view all distances in one lens.
Bifocal Lenses
Bifocals have two distinct focal lengths usually distance and near.
Extended Focus Lenses
These are generally designed for computer use giving you the freedom of seeing at intermediate and near in the one lens. Because we normally sit at or just outside arms length when using our computer, a single vision lens can be limiting on our vision as they are either good for reading or good for computer but not both.
Lens Materials
Trivex/Polycarbonate
Lightweight material that has ten times more impact resistance than
standard lenses. Recommended for children and safety glasses, or
those who are a little tougher on their glasses.
High Index Lenses
Lighter material designed for moderate to strong prescriptions as they reduce lens thickness and weight. Feature an anti-reflective coating and provide 99.9% UV protection.
Resin Lenses
The most common lens material, resin lenses are suitable for most prescriptions.

Anti Reflection
- See Better: Anti reflective lenses provide more comfortable vision whilst driving at night by reducing blinding glare from headlights, taillights, street lights and reflections from road surfaces.
- Look Better: Anti reflective lenses are easier to keep clean and more scratch resistant.
- Feel Better: Anti reflective lenses can reduce headaches and eye fatigue caused by reflections from computer screens and indoor lighting.
Transitions Signature GEN 8 Lenses
Transitions Signature GEN 8 lenses provide the wearer with clear lenses indoors and a tinted lens outdoors. They are more responsive to outdoor light meaning they get darker when you’re facing away from the sun, in reflected light and at different times of day, and block 100% of UV rays. Polarised Sunglass Lenses
Polarised lenses eliminate the blinding glare that an ordinary tint cannot. They are specifically designed to reduce glare from surfaces such as water, snow and roads as well as blocking harmful UV rays. Available in Brown, Grey and Green these lenses are especially suitable for sports such as skiing, boating, fishing and great for driving also.

At Kellyville Optical we carry all major brands of contact lenses and can find a lens to fit your needs perfectly. Contact lenses are available in daily, 2 weekly and monthly disposable and you can even sleep in some designs.
